Bridal dress in a contemporary context (2021)
Design, implementation and staging of a wedding gown for the exhibition Nouveautés of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Dresden.
Textile, fashion, illustration and photography meet on an equal level in an installation and create one united image.
At once graphically textured and fragilely tactile, the handmade filament lace of the veil specifically translates the desire to contextualise delicacy and strength, modernity and timelessness, appliance and artistic gesture.

With its shirt collar and button placket, the basic construction of the wedding dress refers to the self-confident, enlightened approach to gender roles of our present day, while the sculptural, flared overskirt made of transparent silk organdy ironically quotes a traditional form-language. The photographic staging of the design also makes use of the polarity of contemporary and detached from time.
„Graphically and stylistically clear, yet sensual and enchanting in its effect.“
