Textile Vases LANDMARK

The LANDMARK series is a new development of three-dimensional textile objects that can, but do not have to, fulfil the functional aspects of a vessel.
Inspired by milestones of contemporary architecture, they take up formal elements of significant architectural works and translate them into filigree objects of art in exquisite material and colour combinations. Made of transparent silk organza, the objects are then perforated, chiselled and embellished by hand using a variety of techniques, resulting in a multitude of textures and surfaces.

Typical of OODD Studios' work, the LANDMARK pieces appear in a kaleidoscopic spectrum of colour - from delicate hues to vibrant tones in bold combinations. This series is a further exploration of the potential of textile craftsmanship through reinterpretation of traditional techniques in a contemporary context.
